Sanctity of human life

We believe that all human life is made in God’s image and is valuable to God. In particular, we believe that advocating on behalf of the most vulnerable in our society, the preborn, is a vital and worthwhile task. We also recognize that abortion has affected many in our communities and that healing is found in Jesus alone.

Ways to Get Involved

Sanctity of Human Life (SOHL) Task Force: The Sanctity of Human Life Task Force is a group of people at College Church committed to praying for men and women in our community who are considering, or have experienced, abortion as well as those directly involved in advocating for the unborn (individuals, pro-life organizations, authors, legislators), and educating and mobilizing our church to join in efforts to uphold and defend the value of human life. The SOHL Task Force typically meets at church one Sunday per month at 12:45 p.m. to pray, to exchange updates and information related to the sanctity of human life and to plan different ways to involve our church community in these efforts.

To join the SOHL meetings, or for more general information, contact sohl@college-church.org

Caring Network Ministry (formerly CareNet Dupage): Caring Network is a pregnancy center that has been providing support to women and men for more than 40 years. From professional guidance to resources and ultrasounds, Caring Network is a ministry that comes alongside individuals facing unplanned pregnancies and offers both free medical services and spiritual guidance. On top of this, they offer free confidential post-abortion care and support with Restore After Abortion. Caring Network is a ministry partner of College Church with whom we partner each year with the Coins for Caring Network baby bottle fundraiser in order to support the wide range of services that Caring Network provides to its clients. Additionally, we support Caring Network’s Connection program, connecting moms-to-be with local church small groups, and we would love for your small group to get involved.

We believe that prayer is an indispensable act of advocacy, and we invite you to commit to praying regularly for an end to abortion in the United States. Ask your neighbors, small group or adult community to pray with you for an end to abortion. If you'd like to pray with others who are specifically passionate about abortion, contact sohl@college-church.org

psalm 139:13-14

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
