WOMEN'S MINISTRIES
Our purpose is to help women, both young and old, grow in godly, biblical womanhood.

Dear Women of College Church,

The Women's Ministries Committee of College Church is excited to help women, both young and old, grow in godly biblical womanhood. We take our cues from the Scriptures, focusing on those verses written specifically about women. It is our purpose to seek and understand what God values for us precisely because we are female. Those specific passages from God's Word are provided for you by clicking on this link (God's Specific Words to Women). We hope you will take the time to read them, perhaps in one sitting, and prayerfully consider the challenges we face as twenty-first century women.

We all live complex lives with tremendous pressure on our time. This committee takes care to provide times of fellowship and teaching that are intentional and focused upon helping all of us meet these challenges. The programs that you will find described in this brochure have been designed with these goals in mind.

It is our sincere prayer that the women of College Church will become better able to lovingly help one another toward the goal of godly biblical womanhood.

Sincerely,

The Women’s Ministries Committee

Apples of Gold

Group mentoring program, cooking class, and Bible study

Apples of Gold is a six-week group mentoring program based on Titus 2:3-5, in which godly older women are instructed to offer guidance and encouragement to those who are younger, helping them to practically apply God’s Word to their lives.  Held in a home near College Church, it is a time of intergenerational connections, as everyone discusses the Bible study topics taken from Titus:  understanding and practicing kindness, submission, purity and hospitality, and loving their husband and children. Each week also features a cooking demonstration and a sit-down meal. Read more about this program and its founder, Betty Huizenga.

When: Thursdays, January 21–March 4, both mornings and evenings

Cost: $20

Groups:

  • Mornings for young wives and mothers, 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., led by Mary Gieser (Childcare is provided at church).

Mini-retreats

Come for a time of refreshment, learning and fellowship with women of College Church, sixth grade and above (subject to topic). Mini-Retreats provide a time when we can address a specific topic or issue by digging into God’s Word. We hear from speakers in a large group setting to prayerfully learn together. Treats and beverages are provided. It’s a great opportunity to meet other women as well as deepen existing relationships. There is no cost, but an offering will be taken to cover expenses. Bring a friend, your mom, daughter or grandmother!

Watch for information in the Fellowship Weekly on upcoming mini retreats—we would love to have you there!
