Sound System Upgrade for the Sanctuary

The Sanctuary underwent a sound system upgrade and acoustics renovation during the first three weeks of January 2012.

The existing main, balcony, and choir loft speakers were replaced with speakers utilizing a newer technology that provides greater control over where the sound is delivered. They are also more suitable for use in a reverberant space.

Acoustic diffusion boxes were installed in the balcony above and below the large trim. These fabric-wrapped boxes will break up the reflected sound so that it is not focused back onto the main floor. By using diffusion instead of absorption the room remains “live” which is conducive to our music and singing.
