Disabilities - Adults

Adult STARS Sunday Classes -  We believe God has made each and every person in his image. Our class for intellectually and developmentally disabled adults uses a curriculum that is specifically designed to meet their needs. Activities include a Bible lesson, Scripture memory, prayer, singing and crafts.        

         

          Who is invited: Adults Ages 18 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

          When: Every Sunday at 9:30 & 11 a.m.

          Where: Class room C101& C103 on the Main Level of the Commons Building.

 

Inclusion - We teach and disciple children with developmental disabilities to know Jesus as their Savior. We do this by providing a helper who accompanies and assists a disabled child in regular children's, youth and music ministries.

         

         Who is invited: Adults and teens with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ages 16 and up) that do not need 1-1 

                  assistance and need to be independent in routine self-care.

         When: Sunday, 9:30 a.m. 11 a.m. and other times/days

         Where: Locations vary.

 

Praise in Action - Through this weekly program, STARS teens and adults enhance their musical abilites, praise God through singing and hand chimes and express God's story through drama and Scripture. This group performs publicly several times throughout the year.

         

          When: Wednesday evenings, 6:45–8:15 p.m. from September–May.

          Where: Class rooms C101 & C103 on the Main Level of the Commons Building.

          Who is invited: Teens and Adults ages 13 and over with developmental or intellectual disabilities. Reading ability is not required, but it is helpful for students to know their

                  colors

 

Autoharp - STARS Teens and adults learn to play God's music on the AutoHarp. This group performs publicly several times throughout the year.

         

          When: Sunday evenings, 6:00–7:15 p.m. from September–May.

          Where: Class room C101 on the Main Level of the Commons Building.

          Who is invited: Teens and adults ages 13 and over with developmental or intellectual disabilities. Reading ability is not required, but it is helpful for students to know their

                    colors. A limited number of autoharps are available for loan.
