Respite

Friday Night Fun - A time of fun, friendship and recreation is provided for teens and adults with developmental disabilities (intended for those 15 and older). Following           dinner, participants may choose between recreation in the gym, crafts and table games. The evening closes with a time of singing and prayer. There is a $5 fee for dinner. 

         

          Who is invited: Adults and teens with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ages 15 and up).

          When: The first and third Fridays of the month from 6 p.m.–8 p.m. from September through May.

          Where: Meet in Commons Hall.

          What to bring: Dinner is $5 per STAR.

          RSVP required: We need to be prepared with enough volunteers and food, so we ask that you RSVP by registering online by 5 p.m. the Wednesday prior to FNF.

 

Hangin' with a STAR - This is a cooperative program between College Church and the Office of Christian Outreach at Wheaton College.

 

          Who is invited: Adults and teens with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ages 16 and up) who do not need 1-1 assistance and who are independent in routine

                  self-care.

          When: Once a month, times vary.

          Where: Locations vary.

 

Buddy Break - Buddy Break (BB) is a free respite program provided by College Church in partnership with Nathaniel's Hope Buddy Break. Kids with special needs make

         new friends and enjoy all kinds of activities while caregivers get a break.

 

          Who is invited: Children with special needs and their siblings ages 14 and under.

          When: One Friday of the month from 6:30-9 p.m. from October through May.

          Where: Bring your children to the Commons building (south building, with parking lot).

          RSVP required: We need to be prepared for your little ones, so we ask that you RSVP by registering online by the Wednesday prior to BB.
