Meet Dr. Josh Moody

Josh Moody, PhD., was born in Epsom, Surrey, in the suburbs of London, England. Raised in the Anglican Church, Josh attended boarding school in Essex, England until the age of 18. Upon graduation, Josh served as a missionary in the Republic of Georgia and Azerbaijan. After a year on the mission field, Josh returned to England where he served on staff at the Romford Evangelical Church on the north side of London. Current Church Context

Trinity Baptist Church is a member of the Southern Baptist Convention. The church was founded in the early 1970s by Yale Divinity School graduates as an outreach to the Yale University and New Haven communities. When Dr. Moody and his wife, Rochelle, arrived at Trinity Baptist Church in 1999, there were 20-30 regular members (ten of whom belonged to one family). Today, nine years later, Trinity Baptist Church has over 300 regular members and attendees. In addition to his pulpit responsibilities, Dr. Moody works with and oversees a four-person ministry staff, four elders, and eight deacons and deaconesses. He also oversees a ministry internship program which includes classroom instruction and practical ministry experience. The Doctrinal Statement and Core Beliefs of Trinity Baptist Church, adopted during Dr. Moody’s tenure, may be found at www.trinity-baptist.org/beliefs.htm.
