July 26-August 1

Romans 8:24-25

For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

August 2-8

Romans 8:26

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

Powerful words are used to describe God’s Word: a sword, a hammer, a lamp…our very life. Scripture’s authority and wisdom is described by the Psalmist as ‘wonderful’ and a ‘delight’. As a church, we are committed to letting Scripture inform every aspect of our church life. It is one of our pillar values. Individually, the Bible is something we all wish that we knew better and applied more consistently.

Anchor Verses is designed to challenge the whole congregation—from children through adults—to hide God’s Word in their hearts. We have chosen verses that provide an anchor for our souls as we look to Jesus, the author and sustainer of our faith; the one to whom Scripture points.
