| 129 has a unique vision: to have our group not be defined by marital status, but by our affinity in Christ (Phillipians 1:27). To that end, we are a group of people, mostly in their 20's, married and single, who labor together for the gospel and grow together in Him. |

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of the darkness into His wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9 PURPOSE STATEMENT: In light of what God has done for us through Christ, 129 seeks to declare His praises by taking advantage of our place in life to serve God, God’s family, and God’s Kingdom. OUR COMMITMENTS: The Word: Because the Bible is God’s Word, we believe it is inerrant, sufficient, and powerful. Therefore, our goal is to whole-heartedly study and obey it. (2 Timothy 3:16) Prayer: Because we are dependent upon God and desire to align our hearts with His, we are committed to regular and earnest prayer. (Philippians 4:6) Growth: Since spiritual growth is essential to Christian life, we desire to grow into the “stature of the fullness of Christ” by the work of the Spirit through the Word. (Ephesians 4:11-16) Fellowship: Because God created us to be in community, we look to provide opportunities for social interaction that are glorifying to God. (Hebrews 10:24-25) Equipping: Capitalizing on the great resources of College Church, we strive to develop our own gifts and encourage others to do likewise. (1 Peter 4:10) Integration: As part of CollegeChurch, we hope to fully integrate ourselves with it by being tied to the ministries and people of College Church. (Romans 12:4-5; 1 Timothy 3:15) Serving: Taking advantage of our place in life, we endeavor to serve God and His church with our time and energy. (1 Corinthians 15:58) Outreach: Because of God’s command to bring the gospel to all people, we seek to bring Christ’s love and His gospel to others. (Matthew 25:31-46; Romans 10:14-17) GET INVOLVED WITH 129: Sunday Morning: 129 meets at 11:00 a.m. in Welsh Hall, where we study the Word, sing, pray, and spend time in fellowship. Westbridge: The second and fourth Thursday evening of each month, 129 ministers to the residents of Westbridge Assisted Living. Rides leave at 6:10 p.m. from the College Church Commons parking lot. Join us in singing, a time in the Word, and a chance to share the love of Christ with the residents. Sunday Night: The last Sunday of every month we gather at the home of Pastor Augustine and his family following the 6:00 p.m. service. The evenings vary from game nights and hanging out to singing and time in prayer. Outreach: 129 is committed to reaching out beyond ourselves. We do this through tangible acts of service, training events to help us share our faith, and events geared toward telling others the good news about Jesus. These monthly events include: bringing bag lunches to the homeless, evangelistic lletter writing events, serving at homeless shelters, etc. Social Events: From cultural events in Chicago to camping trips, 129 plans an array of exciting social activities- just for fun!
